This is a zoomed continuation of the "They are always watching" piece, focused on a single eye made larger and harder to ignore. I blended and scratched oil pastels to build tension and texture, then used marker to sharpen details and isolate what feels exposed. The eye references the evil eye, a symbol I grew up with and feel connected to, and I kept asking what it becomes when it is read as protection instead of threat. In this work, the eye watches, shields, judges, and reflects what I fear and what I need.
